Thousands of people demonstrated Thursday in the Syrian capital to protest a U.S. airstrike last weekend that Damascus says killed eight civilians, according to reports from Syria.
- Archeologist finds 3,000-year old Hebrew text
An Israeli archeologist has discovered what he says is the earliest-known Hebrew text, found on a shard of pottery that dates to the time of King David from the Old Testament, about 3,000 years ago.
- Iraqi ministry members hurt in car bombing
Four members of Iraq’s health ministry were wounded Sunday after a bomb attached to their vehicle detonated in central Baghdad, an Interior Ministry official said.
- Iranian president suffers exhaustion
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has fallen sick from exhaustion but the illness is not as serious as political opponents suggest, an Ahmadinejad ally told Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
